The traditional monastic activities have been restored in the New Shuamta Monastery.
An orchard has been planted, the monastery has all kinds of vegetables and dairy products from its own farm. With ecologically clean products, the monastery fully provides for its needs.
The territory of the monastery was decorated with new seedlings and various unique varieties of roses and other flowers.
One of the main activities of the monastery is making wax candles and baking prosphora (the bread prepared for use in the Divine Liturgy) for the Alaverdi Diocese.
